I am an assistant professor of English at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. I research and teach 20th and 21st century multi-ethnic American literature and culture, with particular interests in social and environmental justice movements, the environmental humanities, and speculative fiction and film. I received my PhD in English from Duke University in 2016 and was an assistant professor in the Department of English at Winston-Salem State University from fall 2016 through spring 2020. I was a 2015-2016 Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellow; I also held a Mitchell J. Connell Foundation Fellowship at the Huntington Library in summer 2015, where I performed archival research in the Octavia E. Butler Papers, and held a lecturer position in the Department of English at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa from 2014-2015.
